News 6/26/08 Hi and Thanks for checking in! Wondering what's up with the AHB gang? Well here you go, but we'll keep it "musical" because not everyone is comfortable sharing all of the details of their personal lives. Todd can be found providing house audio and lighting services at The Whiskey Rack in North Saint Paul, lending his expert ear, vast knowledge and experience to the bands that perform there. He has also taken the stage for special projects, and has been known to sit in with bands as his schedule permits. George is now the drummer for The Underachievers , and they perform around the greater Twin Cities and beyond. They have a solid reputation as a great party band with polished music that offers a little something for everyone. You can also visit George at his MySpace page. Be somebody and go party with The Underachievers! Allan is currently performing with Mister Peabody. With shows across southern Minnesota, they're sure to be near you soon! They are a great bunch of guys that are tons of fun and guaranteed to entertain any audience (except that one time at the retirement complex). Check the Mister Peabody schedule and get out there! Allan also has a MySpace page for you to check out. Rob is enjoying life after 'Healy and is carefully seeking the right musical project. When it's all put together, he'll be back on stage slinging his six-string magic. Bob is enjoying post-Healy life, spending his free time with family and friends. Although he is not actively performing, you never know where he might pop up, sit in and lay down some bass like only he can! All the guys would be thrilled to see Austin Healy fans when they are out there doing what they do best. Please show your support for everyone's new endeavors! News 8/12/06 Hi and Thanks for checking in! Well, here it is. 25 years later, and we're here to sum it all up in words. Can't be done. Suffice it to say that it's been a wild ride of highs and lows, pleasure and pain, laughter and tears, and not one of us would change a minute of it. Well, maybe a few minutes - but not many. Starting with High School buddies in a garage in the North East Metro and growing to tour a large portion of the lower 48 and Alaska, and album sales covering North America, England, France, Germany, and Poland, Minnesota's Guitar Army comes home Friday September 8th to the Medina Entertainment Center for a farewell show. We could easily write a lengthy novel with all the stories and happenings during a 25 year career in the music business, not to mention a medium size phone book of all the people we've met in that time. In our daily lives since word began to circulate, each of us has come across fans wanting to confirm the rumor of our disbanding and the question on everyone's mind is: "What Happened?" Well, the short answer is simply that it is just time. It was not an easy decision. Life's road tends to change one's perspective and priorities, and it would seem that fate has brought us to this point. The band has enjoyed one of the longest runs of any band in the region, and short of an arena tour with a #1 album we're lucky enough to have no regrets, and be able to look back with great pride on our accomplishments. The next question we typically get is: "What Next?" The answer to that varies with each band member. Rob and George plan to pursue new musical endeavors right away, while Todd, Bob and Allan plan to set on the front porch and whittle for a spell. Just sit down and catch their breath. So, keep your eyes open for Rob and George in the near future and please support their new musical pursuits. You may also see Todd, Bob or Al on stage again at some point in the future too! You just never know...... Our families have always been a big part of Austin Healy, and we feel that it's important that they know how much we appreciate their understanding, patience, and sacrifice. As a general rule, musicians are not an ordinary lot and we understand how difficult it can be to put up with us and the life we have chosen. Thank You to our Wives, Parents, children. Thank You All. In addition to our families, it is with great humility and graciousness that we collectively thank each and every one of you for your support. Your enthusiasm for Austin Healy is nothing short of staggering and words cannot possibly convey the depth of our gratitude. We would also like to thank all past members and crew of Austin Healy for their contribution. Everyone who has been a part of this organization has contributed something important to propel the band along to it's current state. On Friday September 8th The doors of the Medina Entertainment Center open at 8 p.m. to Austin Healy's final show. The amps will be turned up to 10 and the Les Pauls will be blazin' as we bring Minnesota's Guitar Army home for the last time. We are expecting many former members to be in attendance and we hope to have some surprise guest musicians sitting in. Anything could happen folks, and you do NOT want to miss this event! Nothing would be better than to pack the Medina wall to wall, so we would ask that you help us spread the word and make this a memorable night for all. The cost at the door will be $10.00, and you may want to get there early for the best seats. Please note that all remaining 'Healy merchandise will be available at this show too, so grab it while you can! In the mean time, there are very cool shows on the schedule for the rest of August. Check the schedule page for one near you and c'mon out! We'd love to see you. For 25 years it has been our privilege and pleasure to play great music for great fans, so with bright eyes to the future and heavy hearts today we say to you one last time: Todd, Bob, Allan, Rob, and George
We want to hear from you. Got something to say? We're listening. |
